What is not found anywhere in Greece, but it is on Kos
Surprisingly, Kos welcomes tourists with traditions that are not found anywhere else in Greece. 
The first tradition is associated with wreaths of flowers. Every year on September 5th, local housewives weave two wreaths, which symbolize the new and the old year. They release the "old" into the sea, and put the "new" on the shore at the water's edge so that the waves "touch" it 40 times. Then this wreath is carried to the Plane Tree (taking with them a jar of pebbles and sea water), subsequently all these things will become amulets for the house.
The inhabitants of Kos also like to hug the plane tree of Hippocrates - they believe that he gives them strength.

The beginning of August will delight lovers of fish, honey and wine. On Kos, days dedicated to these dishes are held.
