Friends, we are celebrating in Vietnam Lunar New Year - Vietnamese New Year(called Tet(Tet). It is celebrated on the first day of the first lunar month in the first season of the new year, in 2014 this date fell on January 31. But every year the date changes and always falls between January 20 and February 20.

Happy Year of the Horse!

Often the New Year according to the lunar calendar is called chinese new year. This is not surprising, because the traditions and culture in the countries of East Asia came from China.

Everything is decorated for the holidays.

Now I'll tell you what's going on these holidays in Nha Trang. Indeed, there was a large influx of tourists (Chinese, Europeans), many hotels are completely filled. And this is despite the fact that many shops, shopping centers and other popular places in the city close on holidays and “life stops” a little.

But how beautiful the city becomes during vietnamese new year: streets, houses, hotels, shops, restaurants - everything is decorated: with garlands, fresh flowers, symbolic decorations.

Happy New Year 2014!

Tet (Tet)- it family holiday and all Vietnamese get together with their families. At night, children and grandchildren congratulate their grandparents, parents, wish them longevity, good health and prosperity. Then adults congratulate the children and give new banknotes for happiness. The next day is usually Tet Festival.

They sell balloons, cotton candy and kites.

According to Vietnamese tradition, first guest of the new year in the house gives this house his luck. The guest can also give money and receive money from the hosts. It is not recommended to hand over dollars and large bills. They also believe that it is necessary to wake up early on the first day of the New Year. The day begins with a visit to a temple where the Vietnamese eat rice cake with pork (banh chung) wrapped in bamboo leaves.

On subsequent holidays, adult relatives, friends, familiar families come to visit and can also give money for the well-being of children.
Vietnamese women in Tet wear clothes red and yellow flowers and the men are all dressed up black.

Red prevails!
