The pedestrian bridge connecting the Frunzenskaya and Pushkinskaya embankments of Moscow was put into operation in 1999. Officially, it is called Pushkinsky, but everywhere, including on maps, it is called Andreevsky. There is a reason for this confusion - a cast plate is fixed at the entrance to it, announcing that the steel structure of the old Andreevsky Bridge was moved here from the Small Ring route railway. At the same place, the Novoandreevsky bridge was built with a much larger throughput. There are fewer traffic jams, and Moscow has been enriched with a beautiful sight.

Andreevsky bridge today

The height of the bridge above the water level is 24 m, plus the height of the arch is 8.5 m. The steel structure and towers are more than a century old, but the supports were built in our time. Walking paths are preserved along the forged railings on both sides. The middle part, where the rails used to run, is covered with a transparent tunnel with several doors along its entire length. Inside it is convenient to hide in bad weather, but people walk more in open space, where a fresh river breeze blows.

The main feature of the Andreevsky Bridge is its arched spans at the height of a 10-story building. The width of the supporting structure is almost 2 m, it is dotted with many rivets, so the risk of slipping is insignificant for extreme sportsmen. In summer, young people constantly sit at the very top, dangle their feet in the void, listen to music and admire the surrounding panorama. During peak hours, there is even a line of people who want to get adrenaline below. They say that the most difficult thing is to miss those coming towards you.

An amateur attraction on the Andreevsky Bridge is very dangerous. Between the arch and the tunnel there is a fairly wide gap, falling into which you will have to fly all the way to the water. But a fall on the parapet is no better, at least it will end in many months of fracture treatment and subsequent disability. Surprisingly, most of the "arch walkers" are girls, it happens even in heels.

In the evening, the backlight turns on, and the Andreevsky Bridge shines like a jewel. Even at this time, someone is sure to hang out on the arch. You should not be like adrenaline addicts, it is better to just enjoy the warm summer evening and the magnificent spectacle without endangering life and health.

Practical Information

How to get there: to st. metro station "Oktyabrskaya", "Park Kultury" or "Leninsky Prospekt", from there on foot 1 km. From Frunzenskaya emb. by bus number t79 to the stop. "1st Frunzenskaya street".

Pushkinsky pedestrian bridge, connecting Pushkinskaya Embankment of Neskuchny Garden with Frunzenskaya Embankment, was opened in 2000.

The bridge is famous not only for its proximity to the Neskuchny Garden and the Gorky Central Park and Park, but also for the magnificent views from open observation platforms.

However, the bridge itself has a much longer history: it was based on the designs of Andreevsky railway bridge built in 1905-1907. The bridge was originally designed by L.D. Proskuryakov and A.N. Pomerantsev, and is a monument of engineering art, as the plate on one of its pillars says.

Previously, the bridge stood a little higher up the river, and it was transported to its present place on barges. A similar technology was used in the construction; it is interesting that its "progenitor" - the Krasnoluzhsky railway bridge - was also designed by Proskuryakov and Pomerantsev.

It is noteworthy that the name of the bridge is a very obscure mystery. It is believed that officially the bridge is called Pushkin, but most Muscovites (and, by the way, many maps and reference books, including Yandex and Google maps) are used to calling it an "unofficial" name - Andreevsky Pedestrian Bridge.

A commemorative plaque with the names of the architects and the date of construction of the Andreevsky railway bridge has been preserved on one of the pillars; Perhaps this is where the confusion began.

Fortunately, this bridge is not similar in everything - there is not a single store, not a single stall inside :)

However, I will move on to the goal of the story - the views. For starters - a panorama towards Sparrow Hills.

And now for the details :)

In a small cozy "amphitheater" on the pier "TsPKiO named after Gorky" Pushkinskaya embankment hides a copy of the Girl with a paddle installed in September 2011.

Pay attention to the square lined with boards - it is popular with athletes and dancers.

Pushkinskaya Embankment and Neskuchny Garden, behind which rises the building of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and behind the Presidium itself is the Vorobyovy Gory nature reserve.

Behind the bridge you can see the St. Andrew's Monastery, founded in 1648. The buildings of the monastery, unfortunately, have a later date of construction.

Novoandreevsky railway and road bridges.
This place is notable for the fact that being the Andreevsky railway, the Pushkinsky pedestrian bridge stood right there :) New bridges were erected after it was moved to its present place; in fact, it was moved for their construction.

Behind the bridge you can see the Andreevsky Monastery and the nature reserve "Vorobyovy Gory".

Frunzenskaya embankment is famous for its wonderful architectural landscape. Most of the houses standing by the river were built in the 30-50s of the 20th century, and this is exactly what the embankment deserved my love for. If it were not for billboards sticking out at every step, and obscene shop signs, it would be practically an exemplary Soviet street :)

The spire of the main building of Moscow State University peeks out from behind the houses.

And now - a view towards the Crimean bridge, the Gorky Central Park and the Kremlin :)
By the way, it resembles the view from, but much closer and more interesting.

This is not visible on the panorama, but if you look to the left, you can see the Moscow-City MIBC.

Frunzenskaya embankment, 22 - The main headquarters of the Russian ground forces. The building was built from 1940 to 1951 according to the project of the architect L.V. Rudnev.

Hidden behind a huge building is an equally huge, but much more distant building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

But the Ostankino TV tower did not manage to hide - it can be seen perfectly from here. Even Russian flag, mounted on its top, is visible - although not in color.

And here is the famous Crimean bridge, behind which lies a number of equally well-known landmarks.

This bridge is known to every metropolitan inhabitant. This bridge is one of the main attractions of Gorky Park. The bridge connects the bustling Frunzenskaya Embankment with the most romantic Pushkinskaya Embankment in Gorky Park.

Back in 1905-1907, the architects of the bridge, Lavr Dmitrievich Proskuryakov and Alexander Nikanorovich Pomerantsev, did not even guess that after many years their brainchild would undergo serious changes - their bridge would turn into a pedestrian one, it would be renamed Pushkinsky and young metropolitans would hang out on its massive load-bearing arches. extreme sportsmen, and guests of the capital, dangling their legs.

The bridge is located in the bustling Gorky Park of Culture and Leisure, and if you don’t even find a free place, climb onto the Pushkin Bridge, unless you are afraid of course. Find a place on the massive arch of the bridge, there are two arches - there is enough space for everyone. Sit down comfortably, bring your legs together and sunbathe for your own pleasure - the guards of the bridge have long ceased to remove thrill-seekers from it.

Each arch of the Pushkin Bridge weighs about 1.5 thousand tons and can withstand any extreme. Every summer these arches of the bridge turn into dangerous attraction for young people who consider it their duty to climb to the very top and sit there, dangling their legs comfortably. Oddly enough, in the covered part there are two security booths and only one security officer at once. The guard watches blankly as the youths rest on massive beams about 8.5 meters high from the level of the bridge, putting themselves in danger of falling and being injured to death.

The height of the bridge is about 24 meters + 8.5 meters height of the arch. Do not cripple, so you will break.

10.
But apparently the younger generation is not worried about the danger. However, the guard of the bridge does not bother either.

11.
It is easy to get to the arch and climb it - there are no serious obstacles. Everyone can test their courage, except that they can’t drive on roller skates. As a result, there is already a queue at the top for a place under the sun.

12.
It is difficult to call a gentle ascent at first glance safe. From the walking area to the top of the arch is at least eight meters, that is, the height of an approximately three-story building. You can not only be hurt, but also broken. However, that doesn't stop anyone. Even girls in heels and miniskirts climb up. They all say that they climbed there for the sake of interest.

13.
Climbing the bridge is easy, it is more difficult to get off it and disperse with those walking towards you.

Toward evening, the bridge fills up with people hanging out. Here beer is drunk, books are read, music is listened to.

There are impressive gaps under the arch, into which you can accidentally fall directly into the Moscow River.

24.
But no one cares about this danger. Youth storm the bridge.

And there are a few people on this arch of the bridge too.

Let's hope that the leadership of Gorky Park, police and security officers, on whose territory this beautiful architectural object is located, will pay attention to the most dangerous free attraction in Gorky Park - Pushkin Bridge. Take care of yourself and your children.

During the reconstruction work on one of the sections of the small ring of the Moscow ring road, the builders encountered a problem. On their way was the century-old Andreevsky Bridge, built at the beginning of the last century. The city authorities made a difficult decision: to keep the structure, however, having removed it from its supports, move it downstream of the river, equipping new supports for the bridge. The building, which is a monument of engineering and architectural art, has found a second life: its main arch has become the decoration of the new bridge.

History

Worked on the most complex constructive solution of the Andreevsky Bridge best engineers on bridge building of that time: L. D. Proskuryakov and P. Ya Kamentsev. The architectural design belonged to the famous Russian architect A.N. Pomerantsev.

The arched above-water parts of the span structures of the bridge were about 135 meters long. They rested on four pillars, which had a granite lining. Two of them, namely the coastal pillars, were decorated with towers and equipped with bypass metal galleries. Back in the beginning of the last century, barge haulers moved along them, pulling ships and loaded barges along the Moscow River. The structures for the Andreevsky Bridge were made of cast steel with rivets in the workshops of the Kamsko-Votkinsky plant.

During its entire service life, the bridge was repeatedly repaired, but time turned out to be merciless: the supporting beams, rivets and other metal elements corroded. The condition of the structure made it necessary to reduce the speed of traffic, and besides old bridge made it impossible to electrify the railway.

The new pedestrian bridge, in the construction of which the structures of the old Andreevsky were used, connected two embankments: Pushkinskaya with Frunzenskaya. Since the width of the river is greater at the site of its construction, the designers provided for an outrigger channel support. The main arch of the old bridge, which weighed about one and a half thousand tons, was transported to the new location by three barges. By that time, there was already an invaluable experience of such a movement during the construction of the Bogdan Khmelnitsky bridge.

The whole complex of construction and installation works took about 11 months, and the Pushkin Bridge was put into operation in 2000.

Pushkinsky or Andreevsky?

The name of the new bridge was named after Pushkinskaya embankment, which in turn had several names. Until the 20s of the last century, it was called Andreevskaya, then it was renamed Neskuchnaya, and in 1937, in connection with the centenary of the death of the Great Pushkin, it began to bear the name of the poet. Nevertheless, even on many maps of the city and in reference books, the bridge is listed as Andreevsky. And entering it from the side of Pushkinskaya Embankment, you can see a sign telling about the history of the Andreevsky Bridge, which has become an integral part of the new bridge crossing.

Andreevsky Bridge near Gorky Park in recent years has become one of the most popular places among Moscow youth and guests of the capital, however, in addition to fans of spectacular views of the city, this place also attracts lovers of drinking strong drinks, as well as aggressive young people from the regions. locals complain that the complete lack of control over this bridge has led to the fact that the problem has spread to the entire area.

As noted "MBH Media", Muscovites have already accumulated a lot of stories that allow us to assert that the situation on the Andreevsky Bridge is unhealthy. At the same time, the administration of Gorky Park does nothing about this, and the Moscow authorities turn a blind eye to what is happening.

The bridge is a glass "greenhouse" 130 meters long. Inside the "greenhouse" are three dirty yellow booths for protection. The covered part of the bridge is not crowded: most people climb over the fence and climb onto the arch. No one pays attention to the numerous prohibition signs.

The journalist witnessed how the bridge guard jumped onto the arch and began to climb towards the violators, approached the young girls and asked them for a cigarette. Having lit a cigarette, the Chopovets sat down next to them, dangling his legs carelessly. The second guard, of retirement age, at that time was drinking vodka with a friend right at the booth.

According to one of the guards of the Andreevsky Bridge, they periodically call the police. Law enforcement officers come once or twice a day, take away one person for order, and do not touch the rest. If something serious has happened, the law enforcement officers are still in no hurry to go to the Andreevsky Bridge: by the time they arrive, all the hooligans have already scattered. The security admitted that fights take place there regularly, but "you can't keep track of everyone."

The GBU "Gormost" is responsible for hiring the Chopovites, but they could not promptly comment on what was happening there. The administration of Gorky Park, first of all, emphasized that they were not responsible for the events on the bridge.

The locals are complaining about Facebook that this problem has already spread to the entire nearby area. “Now it’s not only unpleasant to walk (mat, screams), but it’s also really scary. I don’t risk letting my 16-year-old girlfriend out alone at 8 pm,” said the Muscovite. One of the townspeople noted that it all started after the reconstruction of Gorky Park: “Before that, they thumped inside. Now they thump on the bridge and nearby squares.

One of the most high-profile incidents on this bridge was the recent case of a young native of Dagestan, a medical student Amir Abumuslimov, who fell into a coma after meeting a group of quarrelsome and aggressive youth. The hooligans hit the young man on the head, and by the time the police arrived, they had fled. The police, however, were in no hurry to pursue the attackers, and the criminal case was initiated only after the victim's parents arrived in Moscow from Dagestan.
