It's best to stay away from this hotel if you want to cut down on your sodium intake. The entire building is built from pure salt, from walls to floors and furniture. The chalk-white huts blend into the ivory desert landscape of the Great Salar de Uyuni, which stretches in salty oblivion in every possible direction and provides excellent vantage points for stargazing. What can I say: this is a land of salt, a huge amount of salt.

Hotel de Glace, Canada

You don't have to live in an igloo to have a full Canadian experience, although that would probably be a lot of fun, but there are other options. For several months each year, you can experience this sensational Inuit lifestyle at an urban Quebec hotel built entirely of ice and snow.

Even touching the bed frames is cold in a hotel where 500 tons of ice and 15,000 tons of snow include 5-meter high ceilings and intricately carved furniture.

Desert Lotus Hotel, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China

The Xiangshawan Desert is probably not the first place to think about when planning a vacation. V winter time temperatures here are very low with frequent blizzards, and summer brings hot, dry weather causing huge sandstorms. However, these conditions are exactly what makes the Desert Lotus Hotel so unique.

The hotel's repeating white tiles give the building the appearance of a flower opening its petals over the desert. To cope with the permanent dunes, the Lotus Hotel is supported by a steel frame anchored in the sand with no water or concrete.

Tree houses in Kadir, Turkey

On Turkey's idyllic Turquoise Coast, at the end of a pine valley lies the village of Olympos, where hoteliers specialize in a different type of dwelling - tree houses. These simple wooden bungalows nestled among the branches have long been popular with tourists, and this popularity has not faded over time. Kadir, one of the original hotels, currently manages over a hundred bungalows, as well as several larger huts and dormitories.

Adrere Amellal, Siwa City, Egypt

Sixteen kilometers from the charming town of Siwa is the Adrere Amellal Hotel. Eco-friendly accommodation overlooking Lake Siwa, nestled at the foot of the mystical "White Mountain", Adrere Amellal has 40 rooms, each decorated in the traditional style of the city, the walls are made of salt stones, and palm trees are used for the roofs. All rooms are unique and different in their design.

The earthen buildings naturally blend into the landscape, while the furniture and furnishings pay homage to talented local artisans. Other features of the hotel include ancient olive and palm groves, Roman springs, and gourmet cuisine.

Given the lack of electricity and telephones, Adrere Amellal is in complete harmony with the surrounding nature, and conveys this mood to its visitors. Torches, beeswax candles and endless stars light up the place, while old barbecue grills keep you warm on chilly evenings.

Aydinli Cave House Hotel, Goreme, Turkey

Explorers looking to unleash their inner caver can stay at the Aydinli Cave House Hotel, which opened in 2008. High above the center old village, in the heart of old Goreme, 14-room family hotel carved from natural stone and traditional stone of Cappadocia.

The rooms are decorated in a natural, even earthy style and are named after their origin. For example, the former food and pigeon nest room, called the Divanhorne or living room, offers original carvings and a private terrace with the best view. Before exploring Cappadocia, you can enjoy a traditional Turkish breakfast or enjoy panoramic views of Göreme and the Rose Valley from the hotel's rooftop terrace.

Earthship Biotecture, Tres Piedras, New Mexico

Before we give up Earth for another planet, it would be helpful to check out potential new digs. The Earthship project has been in development since 1960, and in 1997 opened sustainable lodges for visitors and guests (for less than an eternity). Made from recycled or sustainable materials, earthships recycle their own wastewater, generate energy, and grow food. By the way, they are equipped with such amenities that can hardly be found in space: WiFi connection and TV.

Neemrana Fort-Palace, India

Despite the huge number of resorts with a historical past, New Delhi has a truly unique hotel, the most beautiful of which you can hardly find. Neemrana is a lively and energetic place for magical weekends, holidays, celebrations, and even conferences. With a 15-century heritage, this hotel is ideal for reimagining your present and even recreating a different past, thanks to a wonderful location.

All seven parts of the palace have 12 tiers rising to the top of the hill on which the hotel is located, while the garden covers 2.5 hectares. Hanging gardens, two pools that give the impression of approaching the horizon, and an Ayurvedic spa are just some of what makes this hotel one of the most unique and unusual not only in Delhi, but in all of India.

Hang Nga "Crazy House", Vietnam

With all the twists and turns, tree designs and animal sculptures, the Hang Nga Guesthouse, or Moon Villa, in the Vietnamese city of Da Lat is one of the weirdest places to stay overnight. The hotel is named after its creator, Hang Viet Nga, although it was later nicknamed "The Crazy House" due to its strange design and cavernous interior. The inspiration for this design was the architect's desire to bring people back to nature and remind them to appreciate and not destroy the environment.

The concrete structure is replete with animal-themed rooms, outdoor balconies and a sculpture garden. The architect took the works of Walt Disney and Salvador Dalí into account when planning her building, and guests can stay in one of 10 rooms connected by stairs, bridges and tunnel passages.

Seaventures Rig Resort, Mabul Island, Malaysia

At the top of the Coral Triangle, one of the most spectacular dive sites in the world, sits what looks like an oil rig. But in fact, this is not an environmental time bomb at all, but a dream hotel for avid scuba divers. An elevator on this "tower" takes divers into the water, guiding them through the reef system, and all dives are included in the price of this resort. Although not all entertainment takes place under water: the hotel is famous for live music and barbecue evenings.

Kumbuk Hotel, Buttala, Sri Lanka

On the banks of the river Kumbukkan Oya stands a lone, slightly deformed elephant. This strange eco-hotel is built of grass and twigs, and sways slowly in the wind, like a clumsy thick-skinned animal. Up to 10 people can be accommodated inside this two-story structure. But real elephants can be observed in the nearby reserve wildlife Yala. The amazing surroundings, the river and the local facilities including a number of chalets create the ideal environment for tourists to have a unique experience.

Magic Mountain Hotel, Chile

This Chilean hotel is located in a mountain shaped like a volcano. Fortunately, it is not lava that flows from the top, but streams of water, since there is a waterfall at the very top. Over the years, water has washed over the rocks of the "volcano", and now it is so covered with vegetation that it blends into the background of the forest.

To get to the building itself, you will have to cross the monkey bridge, which is an adventure in itself. All 9 rooms are equipped with modern amenities and large windows, and each has a special name for one of the local bird species.

Hotel Unbalance, Peru

Architects do not get tired of creating outlandish buildings, and in the future the list of unusual hotels will surely be replenished with one more - the Peruvian Hotel Unbalance. Leaning precariously over the edge of a cliff, the Unbalance Hotel will be one of the most unusual places for citizens of the country and tourists in Lima, Peru.

1. This small boutique hotel is located in one of the side streets near the Mayakovskaya metro station, a 3-minute walk from Tverskaya Street. It opened in 2009, in a mansion that was rebuilt from scratch in the image and likeness of the Chenonceau castle in France.

2. The hotel has only 9 very comfortable rooms, 4 categories (Suite, Junior Suite, Standard, Single)

3. Paintings brought from France hang in the corridors, fresh flowers - everything is quiet and calm. You have to look for such quiet corners in the very center of Moscow.

4. The rooms have free tea and coffee, all bath accessories, including bathrobes and slippers.

5. Yes, the hotel itself is ideal for celebrating weddings or some small celebrations. At least all the conditions for this have been created: there is a cozy closed courtyard and a chic restaurant ... and of course a stunning honeymoon suite with champagne, a fruit basket from the hotel and a late check-out.

6. Breakfast is not included in the room rate and costs 600 rubles. If you do not want to eat at the hotel, there are plenty of caffeine and restaurants of all stripes around. It is difficult to stay hungry in this area :).

7. By the way, the hotel positions itself as a non-smoker. Wi-Fi throughout the hotel is free and quite fast.

8. We didn’t manage to taste anything in the restaurant, as it was being prepared for a banquet, but of course everything looks very “expensive and rich” :).

9. We visited Chenonoso in March, when it was still snowing. But judging by the stories and some photographs, in the summer the patio turns into a small cozy garden with a fountain and an outdoor cafe. You will definitely have to look there on a summer Saturday evening :).
Of the small nuances - the hotel does not have its own parking, so on weekdays during the day it can be problematic to leave a car.

: Open room rates from 6080 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 4400 rubles.

10. To be honest, when we went to this hotel, it seemed like a kind of "scoop" with gloomy porters and slightly shabby walls. And in the room there had to be a decanter with faceted glasses. I don’t know where we picked up such associations, but in fact the hotel pleasantly surprised us.

11. The hotel opened, scary to imagine, already in 1952. Now it has 108 rooms, 6 categories.

12. You can immediately see how rich his history is. This is how you check into a room, lie down on the bed, and Chuck Norris himself may have slept on it :).

13. The building itself, for sure, many of you have seen, if not live, then in the cinema. By the way, until now, historical films are often shot here, because the entourage of many rooms conveys the spirit of that time as accurately as possible.

14. Inside there are quite a few different cafes, billiard rooms, restaurants and just secluded corners where you can either talk with guests or just plunge into the era of your grandparents.

15. The rooms impressed us first of all with the height of their ceilings. 3.70 and up - that's really impressive! All windows overlook either the courtyard or a quiet street.

16. The parquet, as we were told, has remained since those times and is regularly rubbed by specially trained people. The hotel also has an art gallery.

17. All rooms have all kinds of bath accessories, free Wi-Fi and tea, coffee and water. There is also excellent parking for all guests.

18. The interior looks great of course. To preserve and maintain the historical image, a group of restorers works on the staff of the hotel. And this is not an empty phrase, the condition of the hotel is really amazing.

19. We liked this table. You can immediately see big things behind him once decided :).

20. At one time, in Moscow, it was fashionable in such hotels to rent some rooms as offices. Naturally, this caused some inconvenience to the guests. In the hotel "Soviet" now the entire number of rooms is used exclusively for its intended purpose.

21. By the way, you can get a club suite as a gift from the hotel. To do this, you just need to celebrate the wedding at a local restaurant :). And the phone in the photo, by the way, is working - checked.

22. Breakfasts are included in the price of all room categories.

23. In the evening, live music plays in the hotel - a harp or a piano.

24. A restaurant where show programs are held every evening.

: Open room rates from 550 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 550 rubles.

25. Hostel Fabrika is probably located in the very center of modern Moscow culture - on Red October. Still, this is a unique opportunity to live for only 500 rubles a day, just 7 minutes walk from the Kremlin.

26. In total, the hostel, which has been operating for a whole year, has 14 rooms of 4 categories (2, 4, 6 and 8-bed).

27. The atmosphere there is relaxed and even a little creative. On the day of our shooting, a whole KVN team lived in the hostel, which held its rehearsals right there :).

28. Inside there is everything for a full-fledged student life :). Free Wi-Fi, TV, microwave, refrigerator - in general, a kind of student paradise :). By the way, there is even a case when a young man from America met a girl in this hostel, from somewhere in Siberia, and the other day they got married .. how! :).

29. There are also such 2-bed rooms with private facilities right in the room.

30. The interior of the Factory was decorated by young artists, so in places it turned out informally and boldly.

: Open room rates from 3200 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 2800 rubles.

31. The hotel is located near Red Square, in Teatralny Proyezd. It was opened by a group of designers, artists and actors in the summer of 2009.

32. A total of 23 rooms of 4 categories were found.

33. The hotel occupies the third floor of the unique historical and architectural ensemble of the Chinese baths of the merchant Khludov built in 1891. And on the second floor there is a cafe - the theater-club of Alexei Paperny "Workshop". A small nuance: apparently on Fridays and Saturdays in some hotel rooms it is a little noisy.

34. Design rooms are the pride of the hotel. They were painted by famous Argentine artists.

35. The rooms have all bath accessories, except for bathrobes and slippers.

36. Breakfasts are included in the price of the room, but rather unpretentious.

37. The design of all the rooms that we managed to see was very pleased - lively and unusual.

38. Some rooms without windows, however, are cheaper.

39. There is twilight in the corridors and a certain mystery is directly felt.

40. We haven’t ridden such elevators for a long time 🙂

And: The open cost of rooms in the hostel is from 700 rubles, and in the hotel from 3200 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 600 rubles and 3000 rubles.

41. The Basilica Hostel and Hotel are located in a quiet side street near the Kitai-Gorod metro station. Not close distance from the subway (about 20 minutes on foot) is probably the only controversial point.

42. In total there are 14 rooms of 3 categories (2, 4 and 6 people)

43. To be honest, for the first time in hostels we saw such spacious and clean rooms. You can't even say that the hostel is already more than 2 years old :).

44. All amenities are in decent condition. By the way, shower accessories are included in the price of the room (not so often in hostels).

45. There is a kitchen with a microwave, TV, and of course free Wi-Fi. If you wish, you can order a simple breakfast in your room for 200 rubles.

46. Inner courtyard, in the summer a tent is set up here, in which exhibitions, picnics, etc. are held.

47. Well, this is the room of the Basilica Hotel, which is located in the next building. In total, it has 11 rooms (standards and suites), costing from 3,000 to 4,000 rubles.

: Open room rates from 2900 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 2400 rubles.

48. This small hotel (12 rooms, standard and comfort) is ideal for those who come to Moscow on business in the Varshavskoye or Kashirskoye highway area. If you plan to walk in the center, then this option will probably not be very convenient.

49. The hotel is young (only a year old), in a quiet residential area. To be honest, we expected a little more binding of the hotel's design to the name, but ... In general, an ordinary, solid hotel in a quiet area.

50. Here is a tree growing there.

51. Kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, kettle, etc. - everything is free. If desired, you can order breakfast in the room for 400 rubles. Here you need to understand that in this area there are no caffeine and restaurants on every corner, so this kind of cuisine can be very useful.

52. Comfort is different from the standard larger area, the furniture is a little better and the TV is a little bigger :). The rooms have all bath amenities except bathrobes.

53. By the way, the hotel positions itself as a "non-smoking", but inside the hotel there is a "smoking room". Wi-Fi is free in the rooms.

1. Hotel Ještěd, Czech Republic

This hotel, designed by Czech architect Karel Hubáček, is a retro-futuristic tower rising 91 meters above the majestic Mount Jested. The building itself is decorated in a futuristic style (or at least in the style of the "future" as it was envisioned in the 1960s) both inside and out.

The tower was designed to naturally elongate the silhouette of the mountain it tops, but this design of the tower is not mere decoration. This is a television transmitter built to withstand extreme weather.

The Jested Tower, built between 1966 and 1973, was awarded the international Perret Prize by the International Union of Architects. Beneath the tower is a space-age style hotel and restaurant with rounded egg-shaped chairs hanging from the ceilings and gold-tinted lighting in the form of round lamps and chandeliers.
