In the northern part of the Republic of Vietnam there are also good resorts located near Hanoi. You can have a great rest on them from May to October. Consider the top five resorts to choose the most suitable according to personal preferences.

As for the review of the beaches, it is as follows:

  1. Central beach of Phan Thiet located right in the city. Suitable for those who are too lazy to travel far.
  2. Tien Tan (Phan Thiet, Ke Ga lighthouse area)quiet place. Water brings a lot of debris and turbidity due to big waves. If the first one is regularly cleaned, then it is difficult to get rid of the dregs. The entire infrastructure ends with the work of hotels. There is practically no entertainment.
  3. Puhai Beach (near Phan Thiet)- quiet, surrounded by respectable hotels that monitor the cleanliness and grooming of the coastal zone.
  4. Khon Rum (twelve kilometers from Mui Ne)- a secluded and beautiful place without entertainment and hotels. City bus number one goes here.
  5. Rang (Mui Ne central beach) has a developed infrastructure, many hotels, schools of active sports. It's always crowded here. The entrance to the water is gentle. Passages to many sections of the beaches are blocked by hotels.

Where to relax on the island of Phu Quoc?

  • diving and snorkeling (the cheapest lessons and equipment rental);
  • many restaurants and cafes.

The most luxurious hotel is LaVerandaResort & Spa, which has a huge tropical garden and a French bakery. In general, living on the island is expensive compared to other Vietnamese resorts.

The best beaches on the island are:

We bring to your attention a small video review of Bai Sao beach.

The beaches of Vietnam heavenly corners coast South China Sea. They have been famous for over 20 years as beautiful places for taking sea and air baths.

100% of Vietnam's beaches are covered with white or yellow-brown sand. There are only a few pebble rookeries in the country. One of them (in the province of Binh Thuan) is known for the fact that the stones on it are of different colors: white, purple, blue, yellow.

V fishing villages and ports in Vietnam, you can find concrete piers with descents for fishing boats, but even such structures are rare. The beaches of Vietnam are surrounded by stormy tropical vegetation: palm trees, breadfruit and fig trees, thickets of ferns.

Descent into the water on most of the haulouts of the country is gentle or of medium steepness. Sand is washed on it by the surf. During low tides, the ocean on some beaches retreats by 100 meters or more. You need to swim in such corners of the coast carefully and only in the first half of the day, so as not to fall into the oncoming waters and not be left without boats on the high seas.

The only drawback of the beaches of Vietnam– the absence of rescuers by 50-60% of them. This is due to objective reasons. The total length of the country's coast is more than 3,200 km, and it is simply impossible to place special service officers everywhere, to equip patrol posts and watercraft bases for them everywhere. But there are no security problems in large resorts, and every tourist can be calm: rescue and first aid are carried out very quickly and without unnecessary delay.

Each beach in Vietnam has its own distinctive features and positive aspects. In different places at different times, the shores are best suited for different types of recreation. In winter, the beaches of the southern part of Vietnam are especially good. Off the coast of these places, light winds and small waves create ideal conditions for ordinary, kite and wind surfing, yachting and others water sports sports.

On the photo beaches vietnam white sand

The beaches that are located on small islands, such as Phu Quoc, on the contrary, are distinguished by the calmness of sea waters and the complete absence of strong air currents.
If we compare the ratio of comfort, the number of sunny days and the beauty of the coastline, then the best in Vietnam are the beaches of Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Da Nang.

On the video beaches Vietnam white sand:

Nha Trang

Nha Trang is the beach capital of Vietnam. The shores in this city and its environs are places that seem to have stepped out of the pictures of advertising brochures. Well-groomed, beautiful, with white sand and clear water, they wordlessly incite tourists to relax at the resort as often and as often as possible.

Beaches are scattered along the coast of Nha Trang and nearby villages. Their total length is about 30 km. Width in different places varies from 20 to 50 meters. The cover is sandy everywhere, with a small amount of shells.

But the main attraction and attraction of Phi Long Apartments is the beach.

Useful about Vietnam

About the beaches of Vietnam

We will compare the beaches of 4 Vietnamese resorts: Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Hoi An and Mui Ne. We lived in Nha Trang and Hoi An for many months, in Fukuoka and Mui Ne we stayed only a few days. Therefore, we give the most complete information, of course, only for the first two resorts. Please, if you have something to say, make additions in the comments to this post.

Hoi An City

small town with great story. Very beautiful center, a sea of small temples and museums. This city is almost unknown to our tourists and I was even scolded once for telling everyone about this wonderful city (quote: “Russian tourists will come and ruin everything, it’s better to sit in Mui Ne”). I don't know why Russian tourists have such a dislike for Russian tourists, but I continue to praise Hoi An and its magnificent beach.

Hoi An beach

The best time to visit, in our opinion: from May (maybe April) to August.

Pros of the Vietnamese beach in Hoi An

  1. long coastline, gently sloping entrance, pleasant sand, moderately clear water (not perfectly clear, do not forget that this is the South China Sea, perfect transparency is simply impossible here);
  2. clean and sparse.

Minuses

  1. It is located far from the city center (where most hotels are concentrated), so you need to either rent a bike (10 minutes ride) or take a taxi or go on foot while exploring the city.

The town of Hoi An is very cute, we did not live in the city itself, but almost in rice fields :)) we rented a room from the Vietnamese:

Therefore, we went to the city itself once or twice a week, but still in 3 months we managed to see all the coolest places, which we will write about a little later.

City map

Click on the menu icon in the top left corner.

Nha Trang city

When we were in Nha Trang: August - October `13, December `13, January - March `14, July - December `14.

The best time to visit in our opinion is from February/March to September.

This city, however, like Mui Ne, is extremely popular among our compatriots. Russian signs, Russian menus - sometimes it seemed that you were not in Vietnam, but in Sochi. The city has both pluses and minuses, but it seemed to us that there are much more pluses. We fell in love with Nha Trang with all our heart for the beautiful city center, very cheap food and accommodation (do not forget that we do not live as tourists, but as locals), for the friendly staff wherever we go, for the large number of interesting places, and most importantly, for a good beach.

pros

  1. the city beach is moderately clean, cozy, not very crowded during the day;
  2. the entrance is gentle, there are no marine life, stones and large shells;
  3. the sand is pleasant, not polluted with small stones, leaves or grass;
  4. thanks to the long and wide coastline, tourists are evenly distributed along the beach without interfering with each other;
  5. In addition to the city beach, there are several more beaches near the city and on the islands (all information on them is in a separate post, the link is given above).

This is the city beach:

This is Zoklet beach (located a few km from the city):

Minuses

  1. Perfect cleanliness is not about Nha Trang. To tune in to a European-level resort means to spoil your vacation. This is Vietnam, the local population has a peculiar attitude to cleanliness, so if the shore is not removed in time, you will be unhappy. See big photo, the benefit of them both in our blog and in general on the Internet is the sea. Negative reviews mainly come from those who lived on Zoklet beach and studied that territory well: the beach itself is very cool, clean and comfortable, but if you step aside a little, there is already a trash can. Conclusion: do not leave and you will be satisfied :)
  2. In the evenings, the city beach becomes crowded: the Vietnamese have picnics, relax and swim.

We have seen many beaches in South-East Asia and if you are interested in our opinion, then we highly recommend lying on the beaches of Nha Trang, but strictly from March to September. Other months it's not so cool.

Very detailed about all the beaches of Nha Trang

Nha Trang Map

Phu Quoc Island

When we were on the island: November`13

The best time to visit, in our opinion: never)) well, or in 2-3 years, when everything is completed there.

Visiting Phu Quoc Island was perhaps our biggest mistake during our travels. In short, the island can be described as follows: an actively developing resort, which now consists mainly of construction sites and garbage cans. It’s worth going there only when there is at least one large store, at least one good restaurant, at least one finished road and at least 10 times less garbage. At the end of 2013, this was not there. The prices are very high, the level of service is very low. However, you may be interested in that there are many beautiful places with untouched nature. Now only the coastal areas of the island are developed, so if you go inland, you will see forests and fields, there are almost no people there. There is state reserve Phu Quoc national park which is highly praised. We talked about the island in detail here:

It seemed to us that the only plus of Phu Quoc Island is Long Beach.

Pros of the Vietnamese beach on the island of Phu Quoc

  1. it is long (albeit rather narrow), the coast is gentle;
  2. the sand is very gentle, and I wanted to bury myself in it and forget myself;
  3. crowded, but in moderation, no one interferes with anyone;
  4. the coast is clean, it is clear that it is taken care of and often cleaned;
  5. well-groomed houses, lawns, flowers and bushes pleasantly complement the rest, if you want to sunbathe - sunbathe, if you want to relax in the shade - hide under a palm tree on the lawn.

Minuses

  1. concrete fences designed to prevent sand from washing away. They are apparently very necessary, but it is very easy to break a leg on them (they are not in the pictures below, see detailed);
  2. there is no feeling of freedom and space at all, a narrow strip good sand- this is not something worth going all the way from Russia for.

When we expressed our negative opinion about the island on Facebook, we received in response 2 photos from the beach of the Canary 3 * hotel (the girl rested on Phu Quoc Island in 2012 and was very pleased with it):

The sewer and sticks sticking out of the water also delighted the girl:

Well, to each his own.

Mui Ne

When we were in: Jan`14

Best time to visit: November to April.

Tourist area in the south of Vietnam. It is called the paradise of kitesurfers. And it is also a very popular holiday destination for our compatriots, so, like in Nha Trang, there are a lot of Russian signboards and every cafe has a menu in Russian. Prices are inflated only for housing, but not for food in cafes. Very tasty and satisfying food. Mui Ne is one street. Seriously. Just one long street.

We were in Mui Ne only a few days and were not satisfied with it.

After this article, someone agreed with our opinion about bad beaches, someone thought that our photos were unreal (even expressed the opinion that the chickens were painted on :)) and talked about their great vacation. We asked our acquaintances and friends, searched for information on the net and made a short digression with specific facts and figures. Only photos of beaches will be given here, only liked / disliked will be said about hotels. To make it easier to navigate, we now have a map where expensive hotels are marked in green, hotels from $50 in yellow and hotels from $12 in red.

Luxury hotels

Only one person (who at first scolded me, but later turned out to be a very good conversationalist and now also our subscriber) spoke about his experience of staying in an expensive hotel. Most other people vacationed in Mui Ne on a budget.

Romana Resort & Spa

Hotel: liked it

Cost: $3,760 for a few days. Private cottage with private pool and breakfast.

Beach: liked it

Visiting time: spring 2014

Quote: “The beach is constantly guarded and clearly monitor the safety of the guests. The shore is constantly cleaned during the day, especially during stormy waves. We spent a splendid Honeymoon v beautiful hotel with great surroundings and great service. And by the way, about the fact that all the beaches are similar ( comments on our photos) - a deep lie! How many of them were bypassed, everywhere it was clean and beautiful, they didn’t come across unkempt ones. ”

Hotels from $50 per day.

1.Haiau Resort

Hotel: didn't like it

Cost: unknown, but now the prices are: $50 per day.

Beach: didn't like it

Visiting time: December 2013 - January 2014

Quote: “When choosing a hotel, no one could definitely advise anything, and nothing on the case was said on the forums. Of the advantages: the hotel was created for surfers, separate houses (rooms), prices in the area are much lower for food and things than in the center, New Year's concert. Disadvantages: the rooms are very old, they are not cleaned - only the towels are changed, far from resort area, the coastline is very dirty (everything is in shells, jellyfish, they clean the fish right there, the smell is appropriate)”.

3. Mui Ne Central Beach

Information only on the beach.

Time of visit: December 2013

Quote: “If you are going to Mui Ne with a child, and even in the kiter season, keep in mind that you will swim mainly in the pool. There is another option - to rent a hotel not in the center of the Russian beach, but not far from the Red Dunes in Mui Ne. There are several luxury hotels there. The waves there are noticeably smaller, and the sea is cleaner. You can already swim there with a child. ” Another quote: “It was almost impossible to swim on the central beach. To be honest, even in calm weather there was no desire to land and rest at all. There is a lot of garbage there, the sea is unclear and dirty.”

Quote and photo author.

Hotels from $ 12 per day

1Rang Dong Resort

Hotel: didn't like it

Cost: $12 and $16 per day.

Beach: didn't like it

Visited: January 2014

This is our hotel and our beach, we wrote about them in more detail in a post about Mui Ne. Here are just a couple of photos.

There were roosters and hens grazing on our beach.
Later we were assured that this could not be in Mui Ne. They are probably right, only we had chickens, ducks walked at other points. Very nice.

Cost: $16 per day.

Beach: liked it

Visited: March 2014

“Beyond the gate was the sea. It is difficult to call this place a beach, there were fishing round boats and nets were drying. Going a little further away you could swim. And in the evenings by the sea it was just great - palm trees, stars, the sound of the waves and - no one nearby. What a wonderful place!"

Source for quote and photo.

3 Sunrise Village

Hotel: liked it

Cost: $18 per day.

Beach: didn't like it

Time of visit: May 2013

“We will also consider the location of the future hotel. It seems like the place we had was not so hot. But let's say almost right behind our hotel the coast paved with concrete began. Some people might like it, some might not."

And a few more photos of Mui Ne.

But the question is how to choose the one that suits you from a huge number of beaches. The coastline of Vietnam stretches for 3,400 kilometers along the sea. Tourists are attracted by kilometer-long sandy beaches, warm sea, quiet backwaters and unusual islands.

The climate of Vietnamese beaches

Before choosing a route for yourself, you should find out what season it is better to come to a particular resort. Otherwise, in the end, when you arrive, you will be very upset by what you see. During the rainy season, the sea is dirty here, the waves are big, and it rains heavily every day.

Some of the best beaches are located in the south of Vietnam. good season starts in October and ends in February. At this time there is no rain at all, every day is sunny and almost windless. But the rainy season from June to October is considered a natural disaster with rains and typhoons.

There are also very beautiful beaches in the north of the country. Here they are best visited from May to August.

Almost any beach of interest can be reached from Ho Chi Minh City. And the most large beaches located a couple of hours away by car or public transport. Therefore, if you decide to fly to Vietnam, then immediately take tickets to Ho Chi Minh City.

And now let's get acquainted with the best Vietnamese beaches.

Central city beach in Nha Trang

The beach stretches along the coast for 7 kilometers. But even despite its huge size, during the season it is always crowded with vacationing tourists. It is worth noting that the warm period here does not coincide with the summer months, so you should be careful when you are planning to fly to Nha Trang. The seasons are divided into dry and rainy. You only need to choose the dry season, since at this time there is no rain, it is warm and the water is not so muddy. The central beach is located in the heart of Nha Trang and is rightfully considered the best. You can get here from absolutely anywhere in the city by public transport or by car. Since this is the main city beach, entry here is free for everyone. But, as elsewhere, you will have to pay extra for renting sunbeds and umbrellas. Almost all of its territory belongs to the city authorities. But there are also small fenced-off beaches, which are considered the property of hotels.

The infrastructure of the beach is very well developed. Near the entrance there are changing rooms, showers, a mandatory medical center, and lifeguards are working. In addition, the beach is famous for its numerous entertainments. These are water skiing, snorkeling, jet skis, surfing, areas for active species sports, boat trips, fishing and much more. If you came here just to sunbathe, then there are a lot of massage therapists on the beach who will make a delightful massage for a small fee.

In addition to entertainment attractions, cafes and restaurants are located along the entire length of the beach. There we can eat delicious food and drink refreshing drinks. If you are too lazy to go somewhere, then you can stay in a sun lounger, and street vendors will bring whatever you want. However, take food from them with caution, as you can get poisoned. Be that as it may, if you want to try Vietnamese cuisine, then be sure to get exotic fruits, fish, delicious banana buns and other snacks that will definitely not leave anyone indifferent.

The city beach, like the rest, is strewn with sand. The sand here is white, fine and consists of small particles of the shells of marine inhabitants, which are considered to be a kind of filter for sea water. Cleaned here once a day. The descent to the sea is gentle, and the bottom is flat sandy. You will not meet strong waves on the beach, as it is located in the very center of Nha Trang bay. So the rest on the central beach will especially appeal to tourists with children.

It's easy to get to. The main landmark is Tran Phu Street. Any available transport already departs from here. It is best to get there by your own car, which can be left in the parking lot near the beach.

Mui Ne central beach

Exactly this favorite place Mui Ne tourists. In another way, the beach is called Rang. For almost seven kilometers of the coastal zone there are many hotels, hotels, restaurants, bars, schools of maritime modes of transport and so on. The beach is famous for its large number of surfers and kiters. If you want to stay in a cheap hotel, then you should cross the road. The central beach is the place where it is always noisy, where you can find inexpensive accommodation. For lovers of calm quiet rest, Mui Ne beach is not suitable.

The main beach itself is represented by a yellow and white sand strip. The bottom is flat, the descent is not very steep. True, the water here is quite muddy, in fact, as on other beaches of the resort. There are sun loungers and a few activities by the water. Although if you look at the entire length of the beach, you get the feeling that there is no entertainment here at all, since they are located at a great distance from each other.

The entire coastal zone is closely built up with hotels. That is why, when you settle in a hotel, it is very difficult to find a passage to the beach. Great discomfort is also sometimes presented by numerous caterers. But if it doesn’t bother you a lot, and there is a desire, then you can learn this sport in a special school located here.

Long Beach

The beach is located in the west of Phu Quoc Island. It is so long that it stretches from the airport itself to the very southern point islands. The sand on the shore is of a beautiful yellowish hue, quite fine, so the foot completely falls inward. It is much easier to walk on wet sand. The water is cloudy, a beautiful turquoise color. The bottom is straight, when going to the depth, the so-called steps are felt, as well as clean. Sometimes there may be groups of stones, but this is not critical. Only occupied by hotels Northern part coast, but today the remaining beach is actively built up residential complexes and hotels. But, despite the huge area, Long Beach is still little developed and there are not so many tourists yet. The entire infrastructure is concentrated mainly around hotels. A few years ago, the beach was only popular with Americans and some Europeans. Now, the Russians also fell in love with him. In the northern part it ends with a stone lagoon. In the same place, a river flows into the sea, behind which there is another beach. Oddly enough, the proximity to the airport does not interfere with rest at all. The noise is almost inaudible, although sometimes planes fly close over the water. All infrastructure such as bars and restaurants is also located in the most populated part in the north. As you move south, it becomes less and less common and finally disappears completely. Here on the shore you can buy numerous excursions, diving tours, fishing and much more. sea views sports on the beach are not developed.

Long Beach is quite beautiful, in the evenings you can watch unimaginable sunsets here. So photographers on the coast will really like it. For several years now, the Vietnamese authorities have been planning to create a huge recreation park on the territory of Long Beach. For now, it's quiet and peaceful here. Party-goers obviously won't like it.

Bai Wong Beach

The beach is located on the west coast of Phu Quoc, near the city of Duong Dong. Today, this place is developing rapidly, becoming the largest and very famous place at tourists. Due to its location, you can spend your leisure time on the beach even during the rainy season, without fear of natural disasters. To get to Bai Wong you will have to spend only nine dollars. A water connection has recently been established between the main part of Vietnam and the island, which has economically affected the development of a completely isolated beach. Despite the proximity to the city of Duong Dong, you will not be able to get to the island directly, you will have to take a detour. If you drive from the north side, you will come across the small fishing village of Ham Nin.

Bai Wong is an amazing beach, which is often called pearl. It's always nice here warm water, and there are several cozy cafes on the shore. If you decide to stay in this part of Phu Quoc, don't forget to stock up on goggles and sunscreen. It is also not advised to walk barefoot on the sand, as it can be very hot and you can get burned. The best family vacation on Bai Wong Beach will be under an umbrella in a sunbed.

Bai Sao beach

This beach is considered the most beautiful in all of Phu Quoc and one of the best in Vietnam. Numerous reviews of tourists have become evidence of this. The beach is famous for its white sand and clear water. And the sand here is really unusual. It is as white as shown in the pictures. Toward the south, the sandy strip becomes yellower and much larger. That is why there are not so many tourists in this part. The beach is also famous for its clear water, shimmering with different shades of turquoise. The farther from the coast, the brighter and richer the color of the sea wave becomes. The sea here is always calm, warm, the bottom is sandy and completely shallow. Beautiful pictures on Bai Sao are obtained in the morning at low tide.

The most important entertainment on the beach will be a walk along the beach itself. He is extraordinarily handsome. You can wander for hours looking at crabs, collecting shells and admiring the sea. If you want to sunbathe, then get a sunbed near the Paradiso restaurant. When you buy a drink at the bar, you get a sun lounger for free. There is also a shower with fresh water. In addition to the beach, many hotels offer jet ski, motorbike and kayak rentals. You can even rent a boat and go fishing.

Bai Sao has a lot of restaurants and cafes. Moreover, in addition to classical Vietnamese cuisine, even Russian dishes are served here. In addition to the main catering places, merchants constantly run along the beach and offer drinks.

Getting here is not so difficult, only the road is very bad. For a long time, the island authorities have been promising to build a new road, but this is unlikely to happen until the entire Bai Sao finally becomes a resort area.

China Beach

Probably every tourist has heard about this beach. Moreover, he received his popularity after the release of the famous American series. China Beach stretches for many kilometers. Many locals say that during the war with the United States, Vietnamese troops picnicked here. But some people think that this historical fact finds himself in a completely different place.

The beach got its name from the hotel of the same name, located on the coast. Most likely, this was done in order to attract even more vacationers and tourists. And the title really helped. Hundreds of thousands of tourists visit the Chinese beach every year. In addition to the standard beach holiday, surfing is developed here. In 1992, the world's first competition in this non-standard sport was organized on the beach. The beach warm season begins in late spring and lasts until mid-August. Surfing is best from September to December. Therefore, depending on your preferences, choose the time when you go to Da Nang.

Rest on China Beach will appeal to families with children, here you can not only lie on the beach, but also visit various attractions. From here you can buy an excursion tour to the Marble Mountains. And also visit numerous cafes and attractions. Forbs recently published a list of the most interesting beaches in the world, and China Beach was one of them. Despite the fact that the history of the beach is connected with a military hospital, it never ceases to be colorful and truly unique place in Vietnam.

Kega beach

This place is called a hermitage. And all because there is absolutely no infrastructure here. But the beach is famous for its local historical landmark - the lighthouse of the same name. It was located around the stones and served faithfully for many years, warning ships of danger.

Today, the Lighthouse has become a local landmark, which you can go to on your own, and at high tide, sail on a boat. Fishermen often use it during night fishing. In general, the beach makes a good impression, it is especially beautiful during dawn, when the sun's rays illuminate everything around. Kega Beach can be compared to the plot of the artwork "The Old Man and the Sea".

Paragon beach

This is a small beach, 200 meters long, located in the south of Nha Trang. Despite the very tiny size, this place can be called the Vietnamese Rublyovka. And all because various expensive villas, mansions and five-star hotels are concentrated on the beach. From all this, we can conclude that not all tourists can afford to relax here, although entry to the beach is free, and you will have to pay about $ 3 for a sunbed.

Getting to Paragon is not difficult at all. You can rent a motorcycle or take a taxi. The reference point is the cable car to Winpearl Island. The beach is of artificial origin, and was created specifically in quiet place, with calm water. This place is just a paradise for the whole family. Shafts were erected for additional protection from waves, and the quality of the sand here is much better than on many other beaches in Vietnam.
