The most unusual hotels in the world. The most amazing hotels in the world

During our last trip to St. Petersburg, we talked a lot with the managers of large and mini hotels about how hotel business in our country. Almost every one of them talked about the fact that in St. Petersburg there is very serious competition among hotels, but in Moscow, everything is completely different - there are not enough hotels and even the worst hotel in a residential area is almost always full.

With the help of you and the online service for booking hotels, we tried to find unusual hotels in Moscow. Yes, there are fewer such hotels in the capital than in St. Petersburg, but they still exist :). Let's take a look at them together...

Be sure to read the post to the very end and then you will find out how to get a discount in 7% , when booking any hotel (applies not only to hotels in Moscow, but all over the world!) on !

(Total 53 photos)

: Open room rates from 6,500 rubles to 12,500 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 4500 rubles.

1. This small boutique hotel is located in one of the side streets near the Mayakovskaya metro station, a 3-minute walk from Tverskaya Street. It opened in 2009, in a mansion that was rebuilt from scratch in the image and likeness of the Chenonceau castle in France.

2. The hotel has only 9 very comfortable rooms, 4 categories (Suite, Junior Suite, Standard, Single)

3. Paintings brought from France hang in the corridors, fresh flowers - everything is quiet and calm. You have to look for such quiet corners in the very center of Moscow.

4. The rooms have free tea and coffee, all bath accessories, including bathrobes and slippers.

5. Yes, the hotel itself is ideal for celebrating weddings or some small celebrations. At least all the conditions for this have been created: there is a cozy private courtyard and a chic restaurant ... and, of course, a stunning honeymoon suite with champagne, a fruit basket from the hotel and a late check-out.

6. Breakfast is not included in the room rate and costs 600 rubles. If you do not want to eat at the hotel, there are plenty of caffeine and restaurants of all stripes around. It is difficult to stay hungry in this area :).

7. By the way, the hotel positions itself as a non-smoker. Wi-Fi throughout the hotel is free and quite fast.

8. We didn’t manage to taste anything in the restaurant, as it was being prepared for a banquet, but of course everything looks very “expensive and rich” :).

9. We visited Chenonoso in March, when it was still snowing. But judging by the stories and some photographs, in the summer the patio turns into a small cozy garden with a fountain and an outdoor cafe. You will definitely have to look there on a summer Saturday evening :).
Of the small nuances - the hotel does not have its own parking, so on weekdays during the day it can be problematic to leave a car.

: Open room rates from 6080 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 4400 rubles.

10. To be honest, when we went to this hotel, it seemed like a kind of "scoop" with gloomy porters and slightly shabby walls. And in the room there had to be a decanter with faceted glasses. I don’t know where we picked up such associations, but in fact the hotel pleasantly surprised us.

11. The hotel opened, scary to imagine, already in 1952. Now it has 108 rooms, 6 categories.

12. You can immediately see how rich his history is. This is how you check into a room, lie down on the bed, and Chuck Norris himself may have slept on it :).

13. The building itself, for sure, many of you have seen, if not live, then in the cinema. By the way, until now, historical films are often shot here, because the entourage of many rooms conveys the spirit of that time as accurately as possible.

14. Inside there are quite a few different cafes, billiard rooms, restaurants and just secluded corners where you can either talk with guests or just plunge into the era of your grandparents.

15. The rooms impressed us first of all with the height of their ceilings. 3.70 and up - that's really impressive! All windows overlook either the courtyard or a quiet street.

16. The parquet, as we were told, has remained since those times and is regularly rubbed by specially trained people. The hotel also has an art gallery.

17. All rooms have all kinds of bath accessories, free Wi-Fi and tea, coffee and water. There is also excellent parking for all guests.

18. The interior looks great of course. To preserve and maintain the historical image, a group of restorers works on the staff of the hotel. And this is not an empty phrase, the condition of the hotel is really amazing.

19. We liked this table. You can immediately see big things behind him once decided :).

20. At one time, in Moscow, it was fashionable in such hotels to rent some rooms as offices. Naturally, this caused some inconvenience to the guests. In the hotel "Soviet" now the entire number of rooms is used exclusively for its intended purpose.

21. By the way, you can get a club suite as a gift from the hotel. To do this, you just need to celebrate the wedding at a local restaurant :). And the phone in the photo, by the way, is working - checked.

22. Breakfasts are included in the price of all room categories.

23. In the evening, live music plays in the hotel - a harp or a piano.

24. A restaurant where show programs are held every evening.

: Open room rates from 550 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 550 rubles.

25. Hostel Fabrika is probably located in the very center of modern Moscow culture - on Red October. Still, this is a unique opportunity to live for only 500 rubles a day, just 7 minutes walk from the Kremlin.

26. In total, the hostel, which has been operating for a whole year, has 14 rooms of 4 categories (2, 4, 6 and 8-bed).

27. The atmosphere there is relaxed and even a little creative. On the day of our shooting, a whole KVN team lived in the hostel, which held its rehearsals right there :).

28. Inside there is everything for a full-fledged student life :). Free Wi-Fi, TV, microwave, refrigerator - in general, a kind of student paradise :). By the way, there is even a case when a young man from America met a girl in this hostel, from somewhere in Siberia, and the other day they got married .. how! :).

29. There are also such 2-bed rooms with private facilities right in the room.

30. The interior of the Factory was decorated by young artists, so in places it turned out informally and boldly.

: Open room rates from 3200 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 2800 rubles.

31. The hotel is located near Red Square, in Teatralny Proyezd. It was opened by a group of designers, artists and actors in the summer of 2009.

32. A total of 23 rooms of 4 categories were found.

33. The hotel occupies the third floor of the unique historical and architectural ensemble of the Chinese baths of the merchant Khludov built in 1891. And on the second floor there is a cafe - the theater-club of Alexei Paperny "Workshop". A small nuance: apparently on Fridays and Saturdays in some hotel rooms it is a little noisy.

34. Design rooms are the pride of the hotel. They were painted by famous Argentine artists.

35. The rooms have all bath accessories, except for bathrobes and slippers.

36. Breakfasts are included in the price of the room, but rather unpretentious.

37. The design of all the rooms that we managed to see was very pleased - lively and unusual.

38. Some rooms without windows, however, are cheaper.

39. There is twilight in the corridors and a certain mystery is directly felt.

40. We haven’t ridden such elevators for a long time 🙂

And: The open cost of rooms in the hostel is from 700 rubles, and in the hotel from 3200 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 600 rubles and 3000 rubles.

41. The Basilica Hostel and Hotel are located in a quiet side street near the Kitai-Gorod metro station. Not close distance from the subway (about 20 minutes on foot) is probably the only controversial point.

42. In total there are 14 rooms of 3 categories (2, 4 and 6 people)

43. To be honest, for the first time in hostels we saw such spacious and clean rooms. You can't even say that the hostel is already more than 2 years old :).

44. All amenities are in decent condition. By the way, shower accessories are included in the price of the room (not so often in hostels).

45. There is a kitchen with a microwave, TV, and of course free Wi-Fi. If you wish, you can order a simple breakfast in your room for 200 rubles.

46. Inner courtyard, in the summer a tent is set up here, in which exhibitions, picnics, etc. are held.

47. Well, this is the room of the Basilica Hotel, which is located in the next building. In total, it has 11 rooms (standards and suites), costing from 3,000 to 4,000 rubles.

: Open room rates from 2900 rubles. When ordering through Ostrovok.ru, the cost of rooms is from 2400 rubles.

48. This small hotel (12 rooms, standard and comfort) is ideal for those who come to Moscow on business in the Varshavskoye or Kashirskoye highway area. If you plan to walk in the center, then this option will probably not be very convenient.

49. The hotel is young (only a year old), in a quiet residential area. To be honest, we expected a little more binding of the hotel's design to the name, but ... In general, an ordinary, solid hotel in a quiet area.

50. Here is a tree growing there.

51. Kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, kettle, etc. - everything is free. If desired, you can order breakfast in the room for 400 rubles. Here you need to understand that in this area there are no caffeine and restaurants on every corner, so this kind of cuisine can be very useful.

52. Comfort differs from the standard in a larger area, the furniture is a little better and the TV is a little bigger :). The rooms have all bath amenities except bathrobes.

53. By the way, the hotel positions itself as a "non-smoking", but inside the hotel there is a "smoking room". Wi-Fi is free in the rooms.

Every year, new players appear in the hospitality industry market, which turn the idea of a hotel only as a place of temporary residence. Everything can be remarkable: from the design of the hotel and its location to the services provided. Today we are going to talk about some of the most unusual hotels in the world.

1. The most original placement – « ».

Location: Stockholm, Sweden.
Cost of living per day from: 9.200 rub.*

This hotel is located in the building of the former airliner - Boeing-747-200. On board there are now several rooms with TV panels and soft beds. A bar is available for guests. The most popular among the guests is the room located in the former cockpit - it captivates with a panoramic view of the airport and plying aircraft: "Jumbo Stay" is located near the Arlanda air station.

* check the actuality of prices on the day of booking the room.

Location: Bloomau in Steiermark, Austria.
The cost of living per day from: 13.700 rubles.

The architecture of the spa-hotel "RognerBadBlumau" was handled, no less, by the Austrian genius himself, the architect, Hundertwasser. The recognizable style of the master is equally beautiful both in the center of Vienna and in the center of the province of Styria, where the hotel is located. Windows of the most bizarre shapes, asymmetrical as if flowing buildings, roofs of structures on which you can walk - all this is the fruit of the work of a genius of thought, who wore different socks on his feet all his life, stubbornly asking others: “Why do you wear the same ones?”.

3. The most luxurious pool - « ».

Location: Singapore, Singapore.
The cost of living per day from: 27.100 rubles.

No rating is complete without this Singaporean hotel, because no one else has eclipsed the hotel in its main feature: the rooftop infinity pool, which can be considered one of the best observation decks on the planet. In addition to the pool, at an unattainable height, there is a sky park with landscaped gardens and a restaurant. Hotel rooms: 2500+ rooms.

4. Northern lights above the roof – « ».

Location: Saariselkä, Finland.
The cost of living per day from: 42.700 rubles.

Remoteness from civilization plays into the hands of this hotel. Here, no one will disturb the peace of vacationers and they can completely merge with nature. For a better contact, the hotel offers guests accommodation in an igloo with panoramic windows. The igloos are at a respectful distance from each other, and almost the entire space of the room is occupied by a king-sized bed. In season, guests often see the Northern Lights while lying in bed, right above their heads.

5. Most photographed – « ».

Location: Dubai, UAE.
The cost of living per day from: 31.200 rubles.

This 5* hotel, in all seriousness, seeks to assign itself the level of 6* or 7*, insisting on high quality service and services. Undoubtedly, Atlantis The Palm is one of the best representatives of the hospitality industry, one of the three most photographed hotels in the world. And there is something to “click” here: what is the cost of its own artificial beach and a magnificent view of the Persian Gulf. There is no need to talk about an underwater aquarium, a dolphinarium, a water park.

6. The best "tree house" - « ».

Location: Harads, Sweden.
The cost of living per day from: 41.500 rubles.

If as a child you built huts in trees and did not get off the branches for hours on end, it is time to go out on new level. All rooms at the Treehotel are located in… trees. This, perhaps, is where their similarities end. Each room is furnished in its own unique style. There is absolutely a "Mirror Cube", "Bird's Nest", which really does not differ in decor from the work of birds, "UFO" with otherworldly light bulbs and futuristic forms, and others.
Incredibly, plumbing - a toilet and a washbasin is in every room. Shower cabins are located separately. There you can also relax in the sauna or pamper yourself in the Jacuzzi.

7. Mostivory – « ».

Location: Tegallalang, Bali, Indonesia.
The cost of living per day from: 26.100 rubles.

To all Dumbo lovers, take note. For hotels that forbid guests to stay with their animals, the Elephant Safari Park Lodge will smile in the face and present its permanent residents, compared with which Bugs and Murks will seem trifles in every sense. The guest house offers its guests to live on the territory of an elephant nursery. Eared giants walking among vacationers are a common thing. Guests are immediately prepared for the fact that a persistent elephant trunk can wait for them everywhere, demanding affection, well, or food.

8. MostInstagram-centric – « ».

Location: Sydney, Australia.
The cost of living per day from: 11.600 rubles.

Everything in this Australian hotel is focused on users of the popular Instagram network. Do you post photos from your room with a special hashtag? It immediately appears on a giant screen in the hotel lobby. Want to do a couple of check-ins but your phone is dead? For the duration of your stay, you will be provided with an iPad for undivided use. Do you have over 10,000 followers on Instagram? Great news - you can spend the night at the hotel for free. Even the name of the hotel "1888" is attached to the photo - this is the year when Kodak released the first camera with a hundred-frame film.

9. The most museum – « ».

Location: Uchisar, Turkey
The cost of living per day from: 26.800 rubles.

Of those living today, perhaps only Ben Stiller managed to pass an unforgettable night in the museum. The Turkish Museum Hotel corrects this misunderstanding. The hotel rooms are decorated with priceless works of art, exhibits that have undoubted historical significance. Paintings, carpets, vases and other decorative elements will leave an indelible impression on the soul of an art critic. The stomach of the guests is delighted with the classic dishes of Cappadocian cuisine, which can now be tasted in just a few places.

10. Mostcar enthusiast – « ».

Location: Böblingen, Germany
Cost of living per day from: 13.800 rub.

V8 - the designation of a powerful engine in the name of the hotel speaks for itself. This is possibly the coziest garage you'll ever know. The architecture and design of the hotel will appeal to motorists. All kinds of races and rallies are depicted on the walls of the rooms, beds represent a mix of beds and cars, tires, jacks, adjustable wrenches and other tools are used in the decor. The guest can "refuel" in a chic restaurant at the hotel.

Today we would like to present you an overview of the 10 most unusual hotels in the world.

1. Hotel Giraffe Manor, Nairobi, Kenya

This amazing boarding house is probably the most beautiful place on our planet, where you can not only relax from worries, but also communicate with the wildlife of Africa. The mansion is a haven for the endangered species of Rothschild giraffes, which are listed in the Red Book and are on the verge of extinction.

Every morning you can watch a funny picture here: giraffes are let out for a walk, and the windows in the boarding house are specially open for this time, and everyone can treat graceful animals with some fruit from their table, as well as take an exclusive photo for memory. Little travelers are especially pleased with such a start of the day.

A unique estate in 1932 was built by David Duncan, choosing a place for it near the capital of the state of Kenya, the city of Nairobi. In the 60s of the last century, the estate changed several owners, until in 1974 it was bought by a hereditary nobleman from an ancient Scottish family, Jock Leslie-Melville, who settled here with his wife, an American citizen Betty.

This philanthropist is famous for founding the African Endangered Wildlife Foundation (AFEW). Initially, Jock and Betty brought in two cubs of Rothschild giraffes, and over the entire existence of the estate, several generations of these beautiful and noble animals have grown up on its territory.

The idea of accepting tourists on the estate who wished to live in it for a while was brought to life by Betty after the death of her husband, and at present the Giraffe Manor hotel enjoys constant success among all travelers in Africa.

There are six rooms in total, so it is not crowded here, and the interior of the house is decorated on the model of Scottish hunting lodges.

Many tourists come here not for the first time with children of different ages and stay for a week. Therefore, in the morning, while feeding the animals from the hands through the open windows, the entire old estate resounds with enthusiastic cries and iridescent children's laughter.

Kenya is famous for the diversity of protected flora and fauna, and here you can enjoy not only communication with the endangered species of giraffe. You should visit the picturesque lakes Nakuru and Bogoria, the surroundings of which are the habitat of a large population of pink flamingos.

2. The Library Hotel, Manhattan, New York

This quaint Manhattan hotel is just a block from Central Station New York, the largest city in the USA. In the immediate vicinity there are prestigious shops, fashionable restaurants.

Just three blocks and a leisurely fifteen minutes walk to the famous Times Square, Broadway theaters and the theater and concert hall Radio City Music Hall.

It offers guests a luxurious library, an excellent restaurant and a free buffet area with wines and cheese every night. All rooms are equipped with minibars and DVD players.

Personalized books are on offer, plus free Wi-Fi, a large flat-screen cable TV for all tastes and an iPod docking station. Slippers and bathrobes are provided in the bathrooms.

Guests can visit the Poetry Garden or Rooftop Terrace overlooking the majestic Empire State Building, access the huge DVD collection free of charge, and visit sport Club new york.

The Madison & Vine restaurant invites guests for a continental breakfast and lunch, and in the Bookmarks lounge area and right in the library reading room you can order any cocktail.

As a guest of the Library Hotel, you can read local newspapers absolutely free of charge, use a computer and printer, have 24-hour access to the reading room, the poetry garden and take part in the Evening of famous writers.

3. Karostas Cietums Hotel Liepaja, Latvia

The building was built at the beginning of the last century, and in tsarist times political prisoners were kept in it. During the Soviet Union, Karostas Cietums was a real prison for war criminals. It was finally liquidated in 1997.

The castle, unfortunately, is in a very deplorable state, but tourists from all over the world come here every year - from May 1 to October 1 - to inspect the cells where political prisoners and war criminals were kept.

The service here is quite original: guests are dressed in prison clothes, all personal belongings are confiscated and, having put on obligatory handcuffs, they are escorted along dark corridors to the cell.

The internal situation in these casemates has not changed for many years: the same worn bunks, tiny windows with indestructible bars, a prison menu of bread and water, and personnel dressed in the uniform of guards.

There is no need to dream of any friendly attitude. But still, guests gain valuable experience here - thanks to the fact that an invisible time machine takes them from today to the distant past, which has long become history.

Guests have the opportunity to fully experience the atmosphere of that time, which is facilitated not only by the gloomy walls of the underground chambers, but also by carefully restored surroundings - KGB leather jackets, captured faceted glasses and portraits of the classics of Marxism-Leninism on the walls.

If you wish, you can stay overnight and listen to the heartbreaking cries of the “interrogated”, and if you are very lucky, then meet the ghosts of former prisoners.

4. Underwater hotel Utter Inn, Lake Mälaren, Sweden

In Sweden, not far from the small town of Västerås, on picturesque lake Mälaren is home to the unique Utter Inn hotel.

Mikael Genberg, a Swedish artist and sculptor, invented and brought to life such an unusual design. He decided to create an unusual hotel and built several exotic modules for extreme recreation.

For the first time such a hotel was launched and explored by the first guests in the early summer of 2000. The weather was windy and cloudy, but the guests were satisfied with the rest, although calling a houseboat a three-star institution can only be a stretch.

The Utter Inn is modeled after a traditional Swedish cottage called a stuga, which is mostly painted bright red. Mikael managed to realize the Swedish dream - to build a stug far from civilization.

The bedroom is located at a three-meter depth. The underwater part is equipped with huge windows, but do not expect to see something original, because behind them is a cold lake, and not the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean teeming with inhabitants.

Those wishing to retire in extreme conditions are registered in the town of Westeros, and then they go by boat to their place of residence. The private hotel is located one kilometer from the coast.

In the upper part, protruding above the water, there is a small kitchen, dining room and toilet, and a terrace around the perimeter. Downstairs is a bedroom with two beds and a table.

If you're lucky with the weather, exciting fishing awaits you. You can take a boat trip on the lake or just enjoy the scenery. Dinner can be delivered upon request.

5. Propeller Island City Lodge Berlin, Germany

This extravagant hotel just blew up the whole world of non-standard tourism. The creator of the hotel, Lars Stroschen, has demonstrated the true talent of the designer and made his dreams come true, while spending one and a half million dollars.

It has only 45 rooms, but there is no one similar to the other. You can order rooms with a bed floating in the air or a mirrored room, in the middle of which there is a luxurious huge black and white sofa.

Fans of bright interiors will appreciate the "orange" room, where all items are painted in the appropriate color.

Fans of close attention to themselves can settle in a room called "Museum". An abundance of pictures, frames and a backlit bed are attributes sufficient to make you feel like an outlandish exhibit.

There are apartments where fans of gothic, medieval and horror films about vampires can sleep in a comfortable double coffin with pleasure.

The number "Upside down" is also impressive. The ceiling is occupied with tasteful “arranged” furniture, but below there is a complete absence of it. However, one has only to pull on a special cord - and the bed or table will immediately appear from the floor.

Those who dream of sleeping in the sky will love the Clouds room. It is distinguished by the clear lines of a comfortable bed, light parquet and huge paintings depicting clouds floating across the blue sky.

Those wishing to feel the spirit of freedom are given a room in the form of a prison loner, with a small hole in the wall through which the “breeze of freedom” seeps through.

Such a riot of creative thought awakens erotic fantasies in some guests. The owner himself has nothing against such a development of events, but recalls that his brainchild is not only a hotel, but also a work of art. Therefore, guests are warned about the obligation not to break or spoil anything in a fit of passion.

6. Hotel de Glace, Quebec, Canada

The Ice Hotel is a landmark in Canada and is considered one of the finest five-star hotels in the world built entirely from ice. Furniture, very comfortable, according to tourists, is also made of ice.

It has its own bar, cinema, two art galleries and, of course, comfortable rooms with all amenities, as well as a heated toilet and an outdoor jacuzzi. Only you have to sleep in sleeping bags with fur.

The hotel first opened its doors in January 2001, and it is located near Quebec, next to the Montmorency Falls. More than 500 thousand tourists visit it every year.

The area of the complex is small - only three thousand square meters. m, and every year houses with new interiors are built on it. The construction of this original hotel takes about 4.5 thousand tons of snow and 250 tons of ice.

It is clear that the equipment in it is real, and not ice, and the doors are made of wood, and the fireplace burns with a burning flame, but the bar has glasses made of resistant ice that do not melt even from the heat of the barbecue. However, guests prefer paper cups with wine and coffee.

Every year in mid-January, a grand opening of the newly built hotel is held with magnificent fireworks, performances of fakirs and orchestral music. The boarding house works only for three months and disappears naturally, warmed by the rays of the warm spring sun in April.

The Canadians borrowed the idea of an unusual structure called the Hotel de Glace from the Swedes, where a similar Ice Palace, only four times larger, has long been accepting visitors and residents of the country.

7. Das Park Hotel, Ottensheim, Austria

The unusual hotel is located in Austria, on the outskirts of the town of Ottensheim in the federal state of Upper Austria, 11 km from Linz. All Das Park rooms are built inside decorated fragments of concrete sewer pipes, and the weight of one such section is 9.5 tons.

The area of each room does not exceed two square meters, on which there is a comfortable double bed, a bedside table and a table lamp. It has electricity and an air vent like a skylight.

Excellent insulation is provided by concrete walls, which keep cool inside the pipe in hot weather, and keep warm in autumn and spring. The hotel is only open from May to October, so bookings must be made in advance.

The back walls of the houses are decorated with drawings by the Austrian artist Thomas Lacel Ochoa, which bring some variety to the monochrome interior of the pipes converted into residential premises.

Das Park Hotel was “built” in 2004 in the city of Linz by the architect Andreas Strauss, but a few years later the houses were moved to the town of Ottensheim, and now its permanent location is Rodlpark on picturesque coast Danube.

The creators of this unique hotel emphasize that the Das Park Hotel project is non-commercial, and tourists pay for the time spent in it at the end of their vacation, leaving as much as they consider sufficient for such living conditions.

According to statistics, tourists pay 50 euros per day, and the maximum period for which they are delayed is three days.

The rooms do not have facilities and water, but the toilet and showers are located in a building next to the hotel, where there is also a small pool - for a fee.

There are cafes and bars located on the territory of the local castle. It is strictly forbidden to make fires in the park area, but picnic lovers can spread a tablecloth and have a feast in absolutely any place they like.

8. V8 Hotel, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

This original hotel in Stuttgart is a true paradise for car fans. In its design, parts of machines and parts from the most prestigious and famous models are used. There are various modifications of the Cadillac of the 70s, Mercedes-Benz car washes, Morris Minor garage and much more.

This modern 4-star pension is located on the territory of the garage and exhibition complex in the town of Böblingen (6 kilometers from Stuttgart), an exclusive automobile museum organized on the site of the first airport of Baden-Württemberg. The hotel, which impresses with its original design, offers round-the-clock free internet access.

V8 Hotel is one of the best places in Germany for car enthusiasts. All rooms at this quirky hotel are brightly decorated, while vintage cars and new models are displayed on 20,000 sq. m.

Room interiors demonstrate Bauhaus design typical of the middle of the last century, diluted with original car motifs. The rooms have satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a work desk. The building of the former airport houses shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants.

9. Capsule hotel Den Haag, Holland

Moored off the coast of Vlissengen, the apartments are nothing more than orange escape pods used on oil platforms in the seas and oceans around the globe.

They were first put into production in the early 70s of the last century. The houses, not exceeding 4.25 meters in diameter and equipped with dry closets, guarantee their guests complete isolation from the outside world. Not all tourists will agree to live in such conditions, but those who wish can be accommodated in round capsules for three people.

For the first time, such capsules began to be used for other than their intended purpose in 2004, as part of an art project. Their owner Denis Oudendijk intends to place eight more orange mini-hotels ready for operation in the center of Amsterdam and in the city of Nantes in France.

The basic option is available to guests. It includes an overnight stay in a sleeping bag and NZ food (emergency supply). There is also a deluxe version in the style of James Bond. If anyone remembers - a similar capsule was used during the filming of the series "From Russia with Love".

The deluxe package includes fur sleeping bags with silk lining, a DVD player and James Bond movies, a small bar with sparkling wines and a collection of vodkas that can be used to make a martini cocktail using the “shake but do not stir” principle.

Unique mini-hotels are already open from May to October, until the first cold weather. So thrill-seekers can get ready to leave. And those suffering from "seasickness" should not worry: the Den Haag capsule hotel behaves like a float on the water surface and sways at the slightest gust of wind.

10. Hang Nga Hotel, Da Lat, Vietnam

The locals call this hotel "The Crazy House". This is a boarding house, and a cafe, and an art gallery - as they say in the West, "three in one."

The architecture of this unique man-made structure is impressive: the building is designed in the form of a giant banyan tree and has five levels, and each room is decorated in its own style, different from all the others.

During its construction, unique works of local artisans and ancient manuscripts were used. Ms. Dang Viet Nga has always dreamed of designing something special, unlike anything else, and she achieved her goal.

The hotel was erected in memory of her father Truong Tin, the President of Vietnam from 1981 to 1988. It amazes with an abundance of skillful carved elements, fantastic images of animals with luminous eyes, chairs in the form of magic toadstools. There are even talking trees.

Majority local residents people are afraid of this building, but enthusiasts and fans of avant-gardism come here from all over the world and continue to pay money, albeit scanty, by European standards, to spend the night inside a fabulous tree. The proceeds go to additional projects.

Dang Viet, the creator of the gallery, lived and studied at a Moscow university for 14 years, where she defended her Ph.D. thesis in architecture. In addition to this unique hotel, she has designed many buildings that adorn the surroundings of Dalat, including the Children's Palace of Culture and Lien Khuong Catholic Church.

The number of original ideas born in the minds of people from different countries of the world is incalculable. There are hotels in huge wine barrels, on giant trees, and those that are hard to even imagine. We are sure that this topic is of interest, and you will share your impressions about what you read in the comments.
