History of the name: The monastery "Kapriyana" is located in an amazing depression, surrounded on three sides by forest hills. They say that Stefan the Great hunted here six hundred years ago. The hunter took pity on the roe deer and ordered the soldiers to leave her alive. A few hours after the hunt, Stefan found out about the birth of his daughter. On the same night, he had a vision that a great monastery would stand on this place, the name of which would be composed of the name of his daughter - Ana and memories of the amazing roe deer - Capra. Sights of Moldova

1. Soroca Fortress

In the center of the city of Soroca, although it is more correct to say that the city was built around, there is the legendary Soroca fortress, built by medieval craftsmen, taking into account the proportions of the golden section. It is considered the most magnificent monument of fortification architecture in the country. A long glorious history of protecting the inhabitants of the surrounding lands from various conquerors can be told by these old walls (from 1499 - wooden, and from 1546 - stone), which protected Moldova from the raids of the Turks and other enemies. It is authentically known, for example, that during the Prut campaign the fortress was under siege, but it protected the garrison and townspeople from the Turks, who waited for the Russian troops under the command of Peter I.

Old fortress sets architectural style cities, dissolving, like rays, the streets. There are many legends about her. One of them says that in the most difficult years of the Turkish yoke, the garrison of the fortress, which was surrounded, was left without water and food for a long time and desperately resisting. The invaders were already preparing for victory, expecting that the exhausted garrison would soon throw out the white flag. However, at that moment, storks flew to the aid of people, carrying bunches of grapes in their beaks. This is how the noble stork became a symbol of well-being and kindness, and its nest next to the dwelling is a sign that happiness has come to the house and the family living here will not be interrupted.

2. Moldovan vineyards (Moldovan vineyards)

Chardonnay, Feteasca, Riesling, Sauvignon, Pinot, Aligote are magic words for any wine connoisseur and lover. Vineyards are the main value bestowed by the magical climate of Moldova. Almost all of its territory, to one degree or another, allows the growth of the divine vine (by the way, about 3% of the world's vine is concentrated in this small European country).

The quality of grapes and, as a result, wine is primarily determined by natural conditions in which the vine grows, and the presence of the sun. The climate of Moldova is formed both under the influence of the Atlantic and under the influence of Asia, from the north it is closed by the Carpathians, from the south it is open to the Black Sea warmth, so any of its regions is suitable for growing various
grape varieties. The excellent quality of Moldovan grape wines was known as early as the 19th century, and since then to this day they have been supplied to the royal court of England.

But the real attraction of Milesti Mici are underground galleries, the length of which is a record 200 kilometers, of which 55 contain wine.

6. Serpeni Headbridge Memorial

40 kilometers east of the capital of Moldova, on the right bank of the Dniester, one of the main memorials of the country is located, which was erected in memory of the heroes who died during the Iasi-Chisinau military operation of the Soviet troops in 1944, during which Chisinau was liberated from the fascist occupation. The Sherpen battle was one of the most brutal in the history of World War II.

The plains and hills of Moldova, its rivers and waterfalls, iconic monuments that are interesting only because they survived, excellent wines and traditional cuisine are just some of the reasons to visit this very small country.

Tourists, who have not paid attention to this land for a long time, are increasingly choosing it as an exciting tourist destination. And they are not disappointed!

Without a doubt, churches and monasteries, qualitatively restored in Lately, are the main attractions of Moldova. But not only! If you make a list of the most interesting places, it will look like this:

When viewed from the outside, the majestic dome of the temple, which is supported by 4 massive columns, attracts attention.
